Foley Library Study Room Reservations

Book Classroom and Event Spaces through Gonzaga EMS

Reservation Guidelines

All classroom and event space reservations in Foley Library must be booked through the campus EMS (Event Management System)

These rooms may be reserved by GU faculty and staff, and student groups for organized events and meetings.

Reservations can be made during the library’s open hours.

All reservation requests are subject to library approval, and will be reviewed within 3 business days.

Outside Speakers and Events

Booking a space at the Foley Center for an event with public attendees from the greater Spokane area requires special approval. You will need to get clearance from campus authorities, including Campus Security and Risk Management.

To begin this process, please contact Brad Matthies (matthies@gonzaga.edu or 7017) or Laura Hutton (hutton@gonzaga.edu or 3813). They will add you to the library's Zagtivities workflow, which ensures your event is properly reviewed and approved.

Students

Library classrooms and events spaces can be reserved by student groups and clubs for organized events and meetings through campus EMS.  For reservable student study space please see our Study Room Reservation page

The Foley Classroom and Event spaces cannot be reserved for individual or group study, but when not reserved for use, they are open for walk-in student study and group work.

Classroom and Event Space Descriptions

Main Floor Classrooms

Located on the 1st floor of Foley Library, FC 101 D and E, and FC118 (west end) are the primary research and instruction classrooms for librarian-led lectures supporting the Information Literacy mission of Foley Library and Gonzaga University's curriculum. FC101D and E can be joined to one larger space accommodating up to 50 seats. 

When not reserved for use, the main floor classrooms are open for walk-in student study and group work.

Foley Library Cowles Rare Books Library, FC 312

Located on the 3rd floor of Foley library, the Cowles Rare Books Library is the primary space in the Foley Library for archival research and archival instruction. When not reserved for archival work, the room is open for walk-in student study and group work. Additionally, this room may be reserved by GU faculty and staff.

Food and drink, other than water in covered containers, is not permitted in Cowles Rare Books Library.

Greenan Classroom (FC 300)

When the room is not reserved it is open for walk-in student study or group work.  

The Greenan Classroom may be reserved for use during the library’s open hours via Gonzaga EMS.

Special arrangements must be made with library administration to use Greenan outside of normal library hours. Requests of this nature are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Brad Matthies, Associate Dean for Library Services, at 509-313-7017 or matthies@gonzaga.edu.

Individuals or organizations without a Gonzaga affiliation may not reserve the Greenan Classroom.

The Foley Center Library does not provide technical support or room setup, including requests for additional tables and chairs. For technical support please contact IT Classroom Support (5550 option 1). For room setup please contact GUEST Services. The user is responsible for setup, teardown, and returning the room to its original configuration.

Small Conference Room (FC 302C)

The Foley Small Conference Room, located in the third-floor administration suite, is primarily used for meetings involving library employees and Foley Building partners.
